Who we are?

Baluchistan Sustainable Development Society (BSDS) is not for Profit Organization working in different districts of Baluchistan since 1998. Baluchistan Sustainable Development Society (BSDS) is registered as an NGO UNDER THE Volunteer Social Welfare Agency Ordinance 1961. The main areas of work of the BSDS are Health, Education, Disaster management, Rights of Women & Children and poverty reduction.

An Odyssey of Progress

In the emergency of Flood area in District Naseerabad and Jaffarabad BSDS with support of UNICEF constructed 500 emergency latrines and bathing places in the aforesaid districts.

PLaCES is an emergency model that promotes a protective and stimulating environment for girls and boys, adolescents, and women through community-organized, structured, age- and gender-appropriate activities, services and interventions all in one location.

In the emergency BSDS with the support of WFP distributed food commodities to the flood affectees in three different cycles. In the first cycle distributed to the 6683 beneficiaries of  food commodities, whereas in the 2nd 6100 and in 3rd Cycle 6106.

Rehabilitation of Community Water Supply Schemes in District Killa Saifullah by BSDS. The rehabilitation work of 18 water supply schemes funded by King Abdullah’s Relief Campaign for Pakistani People (KARCPP)/UNICEF in District Killa Saifullah.

BSDS with the support of UNICEF has  implemented the project of Child protection project in Dasht Area of 13 miles in District Quetta in which the overall objective  was to demonstrate the reduction of the incidence of child labor and abuse and to highlight the issues among the key stakeholders that said to be duty bearers and stakeholders.

The most neglected areas of Districts Jaffarabad, Tehsil Usta Muhammad, UC Ali abad and Khan Pur were set as a priority so to reduce the incidence of sanitation and hygiene related diseases and to ensure privacy and dignity of women and girls to provide awareness sessions and the provision of 300 pour flush latrines and bathing facilities by BSDS.

BSDS with the support of UNICEF improved sanitation facilities on the emergency basis for the flood affected populations in District Kohlu and Barkhan in 2010; when the torrential flood brought the huge devastation in the region.

Four Child Friendly Spaces and one Women and Child Welfare Center were established with the financial support of UNICEF, at Flood Affectees Camp 1 & 2, set on Eastern bypass Quetta, where the children and women were provided psychosocial  support and other guideline to women suffering from problems inside the camp.

The major objective of this project is to uplift the poor of poor through provision of vocational trainings. BSDS has been engaged in the provision vocational trainings in the 6 different trades to the beneficiaries of BISP program.
